Were those machine made or done traditionally?
Machine made sleeves are very popular but you rarely see one made with Au’s

Took me about a year to find him. It wasn’t until I was in Apia that I heard of his son’s tattoo shop in town. So I went there and Peter there helped me to get hold of him.

I came with the idea and some very rough sketches. Sulu’ape drew 5-6 thick lines with a whiteboard marker to make up the base. Then he started tapping. No other sketches was done before he started.

YOU ROCK. love the tattoo. you’re so blessed to have that awesome design. did you pick it or Sulu’ape did?

That is up to the Tafuga (tattoo master). But you can find all of the Samoan tattoo’s on non Samoan’s.

I’m Samoan, and I’d still pay that price. Man needs to live, and what he gave you was a gift. Good for you.

With a Tatto gun its like almost 1000 stabs per minute.
When its done like this it takes longer and slower.
Just imagine a needle punching your skin for an entire hour and the guy hasnt finished one line.
That hurts your body and fucks with your mind.

Just a small one, can’t really compare. I’ve done two samoan tattoos and one handpoked )last week, video will be up soon).
But I’ve met two tattoo artists both vovered with tattoos. One of them has a malu and a moko, both done by Paulo Suluape, and the other a very similar to mine. They both say that the samoan way hurts more.

hey man, have you had a tattoo done by a tattoo gun? is there any difference in the pain? just wondering.
GREAT tattoo by the way.
