Just because you have ink below the elbow doesnt mean you cant join, if you really attempted. you ever hear of tattoo waivers…. It all depends on the size and what it refers to. Unless your reppin chico gang signs and hood bullshit and its a respectable tattoo, theres no reason you couldnt attempt to get a waiver. I have half sleeve, and many other tats. My cousin JUST cleared and has a ship date all ready to roll. he has multiple tattoos and the forearm.

That is not what I said. I never made the argument that “all tattoos are bad”. I just believe (as do the Marines now, and most of society since forever) that tattoos are unprofessional. Try getting a civilian job with sleeves and tattoos that adorn your neck and hands… Not happening.
I don’t think you could get a job flipping burgers looking like that. So why would the Marines, who have a high regard for their elite status, permit counter-culture behavior?

I don’t follow your logic there bassist… I know plenty about the military and tattoos. My buddies in the Army WITH tattoos regret them, and openly admit that the Army should adopt similar rules (as do I). I never speak in ignorance; one does not have to have a tattoo to know that there are negative connotations associated with gratuitous exposed tattoos. It is UNPROFESSIONAL!
PS: I wonder if you would apply your “can’t hate anything til ya try it” stance to gay sex. No? Didn’t think so.
