@powerlounger Stories came out about her being incredibly difficult to work with. It would appear that her swelled ego was her final undoing. That said, I’ve heard she’s back in the studio working at a new album.

@powerlounger This album saw a huge shift in the way Columbia/Sony chose to market her. It may have been some of her own doing. At the time of release I really felt they were trying to take her down the R&B route. This was a fun track, and Red Magic Marker is good too, but the album was largely a miss.
She fell off the map after that.

@powerlounger Long story. She was building a very solid career, got ringing endorsements from the likes of Elton John, etc. Subsequent albums didn’t match the success of the first, though I feel Tuesday’s Child has some great songs on it.

A few years ago, I happened to be changing channels and found Amanda Marshall on. I was completely taken in. Being from Massachusetts, I knew nothing about her. But I recognized that she was a monster talent. And I CANNOT believe that she is not a huge star.
